Manufacturing
Stamping
The process of putting a flat piece of metal into a tool or die to form it into a desired shape. Many parts need multiple tools or dies to achieve the final shape.
Hot Stamping
The process of heating metal to temperatures in excess of 900 degrees Celsius that then forming it in a die by quenching it with water (rapid cooling) while stamping it. The process converts a low strength material into a very high strength material.
Roll Form
The process of taking a metal coil and slowly bending and forming via a set of rollers until a desired part cross section is achieved. Additional bending, cutting, and welding may be required for mounting brackets, holes or other components needed for a final product.
