West Virginia Code/ Chapter 46A West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act/ Article 6B-1 -6 Disclosure, and Consent Repair shop must disclose to the customer that the estimate was based on the use of aftermarket crash parts and that the use of an aftermarket part may invalidate any remaining warranties of the original manufacturer on that part. The use of genuine parts is required unless the owner of the vehicle consents in writing at the time of the repair to the use of aftermarket crash parts. No insurance company may require the use of aftermarket crash parts when negotiating repairs of the vehicle with any repairer for a period of three years, the year the motor vehicle was manufactured and the two succeeding years thereafter, unless the owner consents in writing at the time of the repair to the use of aftermarket crash parts.
