No insurer may specify the use of non-OEM parts in
the repair of a vehicle, nor may a repair facility use non-OEM parts, unless
the consumer is advised so in writing. The written estimate must clearly
identify each part and a statement notifying the customer that any warranties
applicable to the aftermarket part are provided by the manufacturer of the
part. Any aftermarket part used must have affixed to or inscribed on it the
logo or name of its manufacturer such that it is visible after the installation
if practicable. |
