Maryland Code/ Commercial Law/ Title 14 Miscellaneous Consumer Protection Provisions/ subtitle 23 Automotive Crash Parts Act Disclosure Before beginning repair work, the body shop must provide a list to the vehicle owner of the replacement crash parts and specify whether the parts are genuine parts. It must notify the customer that the use of certain aftermarket parts may modify the original manufacturer's warranty on the parts being replaced. Also, upon request of the customer, the body shop must provide, if available, a copy of any warranty for any aftermarket part used.
