RS 51 Chapter 41 Aftermarket Crash Parts/ Sections 2421-2425 Disclosure and Part Identification Repair shop must disclose to the customer that the estimate was prepared based on the use of one or more aftermarket parts supplied by a source other than the manufacturer of the vehicle and that the warranties applicable to the parts are provided by the manufacturer of the parts. Any aftermarket part supplied by a non-original equipment manufacturer must have affixed to or inscribed on it the logo or name of its manufacturer, such that it is visible after installation whenever practicable. No insurer may specify the use of non-OEM aftermarket crash parts in the repair of an insured's motor vehicle, nor shall a repair facility use non-OEM parts to repair a vehicle, unless the insured is advised in writing.
